BVA Survey Shows Majority of Vets Work When Sick
The BVA has released the responses to their 2019 BVA Voice of the Veterinary Profession survey in which 1,300 people answered. The findings show that almost two-thirds of vets work even when they don’t feel well enough. This could be due to feeling uncomfortable about missing work or a fear of letting the team down.

Remote Consultation Service Claims Like For Like Quality
UK vet tech business Vet AI is claiming that their remote veterinary consultation service is as accurate as face-to-face consultations for diagnosing dermatological conditions in dogs. They spent £20,000 on the study across three clinics around the UK. However, it must be noted that the study was carried out by the company themselves, and not from an independent source.

Sweden-based company FirstVet has received an €18.5 million investment from OMERS Ventures. FirstVet is responsible for providing pet owners with on-demand video appointments with vets. This new investment will allow them to further their technologies and also enable them to reach a global market with plans to release the service in USA, Germany and France.

Virbac Australia held a pre-joining information day in which attendees could learn about nutritional and management considerations to help achieve an increased lambing rate. Virbac also provided information about their own fecundity vaccine that is a key component to increasing lamb numbers by increasing the number of egg numbers that can be fertilized.
