Would you like to escape the city rat race and come work with a supportive team and some friendly small-town clients?

Do you also like talking to people about their pets?

If so, then read on, we may have just the role for you.

What you can expect from us:

Our well-equipped small animal practice emphasizes preventative care but we also see a wide variety of interesting dental, surgical, and sick-pet cases too.  We promise you won’t be bored!

Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our caring, team-oriented practice with two locations in Seaforth and Bayfield, Ontario (west of Stratford). Our satellite office in Bayfield is located in a charming historical house conversion and our purpose-built main veterinary hospital is 25 minutes away in Seaforth. Our cloud-based software lets us keep in touch with the team at both locations. The position is full-time but we would consider part-time hours for the right candidate.

Picture this!

  • You start your work day with a dedicated exam room assistant and RVT who support you with all of the logistics for your appointments.
  • They review patient histories, help with TPRs, take dictations of your medical records, send follow-ups and do most call-backs so you can focus on medicine.
  • Clients trust your recommendations, so you rarely get pushback.
  • There is a great balance between consults and surgery – we are often able to prioritize your preference.
  • We also encourage a great work life balance with flexible hours and protected admin time for phone calls and charting.
  • No on call, so after work, you enjoy the beautiful beaches of Lake Huron and extensive hiking trails of Huron County with all the finest of small town living! If you need anything in the city, London is an hour away and Stratford is only 30 minutes.
  • Best of all, you now work alongside an incredible team of happy and calm people who make veterinary medicine fun!

Benefits & Salary

We’re a small independently owned practice, but we want to pay our people fairly. So we have a package that is linked to experience and communication style.  It includes a generous discount on your own pet’s care, uniform allowance, health spending plan, and of course, continuing education allowance. As a permanent member of the team, you’ll have access to these benefits.

Full time Salary – $110,000 – 120,000 to start. No on call.

Career Growth & Continuing Education – All of our employees are encouraged to be trained to the full extent of their abilities. Any increase in salary or additional training will be determined based on your displayed abilities and conduct in the hospital on a merit basis. In the event that you have an interest in pursuing further formal training in specific areas such as dentistry, ultrasound, rehabilitation, or surgery you are encouraged to share that interest with the practice owner/manager so that we can determine how best to support your career growth.

What’s The Next Step?
