Hello!
My group has decided to anoint 1-2 associate veterinarians in each of our practices with the title of “Associate Medical Director.” This develops a yellow brick road for associates who want to become medical directors in the future but also to provide additional levels of accountability in the hospital when the on-site medical director (we have a medical director at each hospital) is not available or not scheduled that day.
I just wanted to see if anyone has a good job description or a pathway to success for training up medical directors?
I’m also curious about job description for medical directors, and chief medical officer as wells. What are some typical models (and ratios) for clinical and administrative tasks?
